Avito: New-Build Apartments
Context
Avito is a major online classifieds marketplace. A self-initiated concept for a new-build listing page, never shipped: the research is JTBD plus open market data, and the design was never tested with users.
Business Problem
When a user isn't confident about a listing, they leave to double-check on another platform — Cian, or the developer's own site — and Avito loses them at the decisive moment.
User Problem
Buying a new-build, people want to be sure about: housing quality (to not stress), neighborhood infrastructure (daycare, school, leisure), affording the mortgage, the layout fitting their life, the area — through the eyes of people who actually live there, every stage of construction (without visiting themselves), catching a price drop, and the developer itself (so they're not afraid of losing their money).
Process
Ran a JTBD pass — what people are actually trying to solve when choosing a new-build.
Gathered third-party market research (sources above).
Looked at Cian, Zoopla, Rightmove.
Designed the listing page around trust: tabbed gallery (video, floor plans), an infrastructure map, benefit cards, mortgage perks and safety guarantees, expert help, reviews, scroll-based section tabs, a construction progress report, a price trend chart, a developer snippet, similar listings.
Achievements
I don't have post-launch data because the concept was never shipped or tested with real users. I'd validate success through usability testing first, then measure engagement with key decision-making sections and conversion to contact the developer or request expert help.
Outcome
Designed a new-build listing concept combining JTBD, third-party research, and competitive analysis across three platforms.
